Web3Conf Enugu officially launched in 2024 with a clear mission: to onboard communities across South East Nigeria into the Web3 ecosystem. Our inaugural event was a one-day conference supported by Viction and projects within their ecosystem, establishing a foundation for blockchain adoption in the region.

Building on this momentum, we expanded our impact with Web3Conf Enugu Extended - our first hackathon, powered by ICP (Internet Computer Protocol). The hackathon successfully attracted a strong cohort of builders, culminating in three winning projects that demonstrated the region's emerging technical talent and innovation potential.

Coming into 2025, we evolved Web3Conf Enugu into a Blockchain Festival of 7 days with more than 4 side events during the week ranging from blockchain to fun activities and ending with the main conference at the last day. The 2025's edition was supported by Reef,Lisk, Umi Network,Digitpay and FinnaHQ.

Following Web3Conf Enugu 2025, our team recognized that our scope had grown beyond a single conference. We needed a name that reflected our expanded vision and positioned us as a premier blockchain destination—leading to the rebrand as Enugu Blockchain Week.

As Enugu Blockchain Week 2026, we're expanding our vision to create Africa's premier blockchain destination. EBW will unite developers, founders, investors, and enthusiasts for a week of conferences, workshops, hackathons, and networking—solidifying South East Nigeria's position as an emerging hub for Web3 innovation.
